"LIVE UNITED: Give. Advocate. Volunteer." This is the United Way of Central Ohio's community call to action and we could not agree more. And Limited Brands associates have continued to answer the call.

In 2009, our associates gave more than $6.8 million to United Way chapters in the communities where we live and work. Many of our associates give at the Leaders Circle level (ranging from .5 percent to 3 percent of their annual salaries) which are matched 100 percent by the company. All other United Way contributions are matched at 50 percent by the company.

Beyond our financial gifts to the United Way, our associates give of their time and talent through our community work days. In fact, in 2009 nearly 3,300 of our executive leaders and associates donated more than 13,000 hours at agencies in our home office communities of Columbus and Kettering, Ohio; New York City; and Rio Rancho, N.M. During these one-day events, associates roll up their sleeves and volunteer at United Way agencies, getting a first-hand look at their donations in action.
