Limited Brands, Inc. (Limited Brands) pledged to reduce its total U.S. Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by three percent from 2007 to 2014.  Limited Brands has committed to this reduction goal as part of its partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Climate Leaders program.

Climate Leaders is an EPA industry-government partnership that has worked with companies to develop comprehensive climate change strategies since 2002. While the program is phasing down in 2011, EPA intends to continue to engage with industry on voluntary efforts to measure, report and reduce GHG emissions.

"We're very proud of our efforts to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. We appreciate the assistance provided by Climate Leaders in helping us set our GHG reduction goal, and look forward to sharing our progress,” said Greg Cunningham, AVP, EHS and Environmental Stewardship at Limited Brands.

"EPA’s Climate Leaders are some of the largest and most competitive companies in manufacturing, finance, information technology and other major sectors of the economy,” said Beth Craig, deputy assistant administrator for air and radiation of EPA.  “We applaud Limited Brands for setting a goal to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. They’re proving that they can be both industry leaders, and leaders in the fight against climate change.”

Limited Brands is also active in the US EPA’s WasteWise Program and SmartWay Transport Partnership.  Additionally, since 2007, the company has reported climate change information through participation in the Carbon Disclosure Project.
